There's fear, and then there's FOMO

Tip #3 - Fear of losing out is the biggest fear of them all. Use it.

There are plenty of psychological studies that the pain of loss is bigger than the joy of gain, and you can short-circuit buying behavior by pointing out what people will be missing out on if they don’t take action.

That’s right: we’re talking about countdowns.

In the final hours of a countdown, you’ll see a big bump in your conversion because people don’t wanna miss out. Don’t make a six week counter—that’s not urgent. But you can win when your counter has a daily or biweekly element to it.
